At the age of 6,Walter Schick began taking piano lessons. He also began taking lessons on the double bass and throughout high school, continued lessons on both instruments. When he was 17, Walter was accepted into The Juilliard School as a double bassist where he received both his Bachelor and Masters degree. While at Juilliard, a real interest and passion for composition was developed. Since graduating, Walter has been making a living as a freelance pianist playing at different venues all over the NYC area.

In 2011, he enrolled in a film scoring course with Michael Bacon at Lehman College. Since then, Walter has scored several different projects in several different genres. In April 2013, five films he scored for Comedy Flo Entertainment were premiered at the Anthology Film archives in NYC. One of these films..."Mama Needs a Ride" went on to win best comedy short in the Chain Film Festival and has since been accepted into numerous other film festivals including The Orlando Film Festival, The Knoxville Film Festival and The Northeast Film Festival.
